MOTN 2026: make a family plan that matches the place
2 min read
The 10th MOTN Festival has been announced for winter 2026–27. The first decision for a family outing is the location: Al Mugheirah Bay in Al Dhafra and Al Jahili Park in Al Ain are scheduled for 28 November–2 December. Abu Dhabi Corniche follows on 9 December–3 January. Those are separate venue windows, not five uninterrupted weeks at every site.
The Abu Dhabi City programme introduces three themed areas: Melting Aurora for younger visitors, Beyond the Sky for teenagers and young adults, and The Golden Hour for a broader mix of food, entertainment and time together. These descriptions help start a conversation about interests; they do not establish an attraction’s age, height or access rules. The announcement places these new areas in the city programme, so do not assume identical layouts at the regional venues.
Start with one shared priority and one optional extra. A family with different ages can agree on a meeting point and a time to regroup, once the official visitor map is available. Choosing a smaller set of things everyone wants makes the outing easier to adapt if an attraction is busy. “See everything” is a demanding job description for a family evening.
Put the venue name next to the date in your calendar before arranging the journey. Use the precise entrance and current arrival guidance when those details are published. A venue address can get you to the area without telling you which entrance works for your visit. Decide how you will get home as deliberately as how you will arrive.
Make two budget columns: confirmed costs and optional spending. Add admission, travel and any separately priced activities only after checking the official booking information. Keep food and shopping as choices instead of assuming that an entry ticket includes every advertised experience. The current announcement does not establish ticket prices, daily hours or which activities share an admission product.
For anyone using a stroller or mobility aid, check the event’s own access information and ask about the route between the entrance, activities and facilities you need. Leave room for a quieter break. These are planning questions, not claims about the layout or accessibility of this year’s sites.
Before booking, revisit the official festival updates for your exact location and day. Confirm operating hours, entry conditions, attraction restrictions and any separate reservations. The dates and broad programme above come from DCT Abu Dhabi’s 13 October announcement; the family-planning suggestions are SIBRIS editorial advice, not an official itinerary.
